Is there an approved PSU for a Barton 2500+?

I've been looking at getting a new psu, since it seems my other one has died; and I can't seem to find one that is "rated" up to 2500. I was looking at the the Antec 450W TrueBlue PSU, and it said that it was "rated to a 2200+ proc. Is this "rating" reasonable, or is it just something that the psu companies slap on their product?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good psu besides the antec line, or maybe I should be getting into higher wattages?

TIA

The one your at looking is fine. 450 watt is plenty. Antec or enermax both are great psu's

I believe that AMD recommends a 300W power supply, but pretty much anything printed on the side of a box is just marketing.

Any Antec, Fortron, Sparkle, or Seasonic power supply of 300W or higher should be fine for a 2500+, unless you're loading the system down with multiple hard disks, CD burners, a high-end video card, lots of RAM, or CCFLs, etc. In those cases you should look at 400W or better supplies.

Thanks for the quick replies!!!

In that case, I will probably go with the Antec 450W. These are my system specs:

450W PSU
Barton 2500+
EPoX 8RDA3+ NForce2
1 GB Corsair XMS 3200
120 GB Maxtor SATA
Liteon DVD/CDRW
Windows XP Pro

Thanks again.
