any torrent app.

You guys need a little background here. I have never ever used torrents and never downloaded any new music for awhile. I do not even own an Mp3 player and bought my first smart phone like 4 months ago. So I been out of the loop so to speak.

Basically, I just listen to music through youtube searches.

But now I have bought an 8GB microSD card and would like to download music to my phone.

I am thinking maybe I can download an android app to convert youtube videos to mp3 format and download it to my phone while online.

I use to use napster, limewire and frostwire for my music needs back in the days.

Honestly, I would recommend Spotify Premium for $10/per month. All the music you could ever want for a low, flat rate.

Don't steal. Get Play Music All Access if you don't want to buy bit by bit.

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to note that encouraging music theft would be a bad idea! Use free streaming services (especially now that Rdio and Spotify have some free mobile options) to get a taste for what you're interested in, and either buy the music (from Google Play, Amazon MP3 and others) or spring for a subscription if you want tunes on demand. I'm no big fan of the labels, but the artists deserve to get paid.

I do agree with this, but I was just answering the question. It wasn't worded in a way that suggested streaming, in the least.

No problem -- just be sure to point folks to sources that artists are cool with.

Recently I have lost almost completely the urge to 'own' my music. There are tons of free streaming music 'provider' out there, and with a few bucks a month I can listen to pretty much whatever I want, whenever I want. I just didn't see the point in buying my music anymore. I still buy some albums here and there from Amazon and Google Play when they have a sale and/or I have credits to spend, but in general, the streaming covers 95% of my music listening needs.

This.

If you don't care enough about music to pay for it, then use one of the free streaming services.

If you want to support artists who make music you like, then buy direct from them so they get more of the money.
