Is there an advantage in getting 2x1024, instead of 4x512?

I will be doing overclocking on an opteron.

Is there any advantage, besides room for expandiblity?

you should get 2x1024. with 4 dimms, you have to run 2t command, and it may not overclock as well, depending on the ram you get.
