Is there an adaptor to connect two printer cables together?

Just wondered...is there adaptor available...to connect 2 traditional parallel printer cables together...to obtain xtra length?...If so.....what is it called?
Any help appreciated

Yes there is they are called gender changer. But why do that when you can buy a 50 ft long 25 pin extension. Get a db 25 male/db 25 female which you can connect to your printer db 25 male/centronics cable. I'm not sure what is the max length for a printer cable but I've used a 50 ft cable before and it worked.

I thought a standard parallel printer cable had a 15' max length. Maybe the IEEE 1284 spec ones have a longer limit - if they are truly built to spec. But yes, you can use a 25-pin M/F DB-25 striaght through shielded cable as an extension. You pays your nickel and takes your chances...
