Is there an adapter to let you plug in an XBox controller into an XBox 360?

I love my XBox controller and don't want to give it up when I move to the 360. Is there an adapter that will let me use my XBox controller on the 360?

Don't think so either, but wern't the old Xbox controllers USB as well, just a custom plug? Someone will hack something out eventually, there's plenty of Duke lovers out there.

that might work... but for the regular controller... why would you want anything but the new Xbox 360 wireless controllers...best controllers ever made for a console.

The 360 controller is so much better than the old Xbox controller.

As for the Xbox => USB I am certain you will have to have drivers for it to work. Worth a shot if you're willing to buy it though 🙂

Nope there is not. I have an XBox -> USB adapter and I can confirm that it does not work on the 360. the 360 peripherals have a security chip inside them that authenticates them when plugged into the USB port on the 360.

normal keyboards work for entering certain information because MS hardcoded taht into the system.

but yah, no way you will get an xbox1 controller working on the 360 ... unless you follow my tutorial 🙂

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if you can go the other way around? Wondering if I could use a wired 360 controller with the regular Xbox. I was hoping the breakway cable for the regular Xbox had the same small, round connector to mate to the 360, but its slightly different.

Aww, I expected an uber-clever hack...all you did was solder onto the points of a controller that worked. Not that it's obvious to non tehcies though 😛

haha yea i know, i just wanted a decent joystick for the 360, and i already have the sf:ac one so I picked up a used 360 controller for like $20.

it is funny because I did that back in march in anticipation of sf2 ... and still no sf2.

So...it was still a quality job and a way to get a good fighting game setup for the Xbox 360. Nice job purbeast.
