Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Internet the "text" version and the WWW the "graphical" version?

Link would be helpful.

Thanks

I thought the WWW was the websites we use, whereas the Internet included them as well as everything else such as file transfers, and all other sorts of communication.

"The Internet" is a catch all name for the TCP/IP based internetwork of computer systems which grew out of Arpanet.

WWW is just one component of "The Internet." The World Wide Web is just a collection of hyperlinked documents housed on "web servers."

I thought the internet was the actual backbone that data travels on, while www was the naming system that let's people easily access that data (instead of having to remember number addresses).

the internet is the collection of publicly accsesable TCP/IP networks (aka the internet) the world wide web is the network of hyperlinked webpages but is only a component of the inernet as a whole.

stark what you are refering to is DNS (the system for corelating number adresses to domain names)
