Is battery operated and relies solely on a USB key-drive-like dongle as the reciever?

I want something wireless for my laptop but it becomes pointless when you still have a big wired reciever sticking out of it.

If there were a simple thing you stuck into a USB drive and kept there that would be great. Anyone know?
 
Perhaps a bluetooth dongle and a bluetooth mouse?

Doesn't Kensington or Targus make a wireless optical like that? I remember seeing it at Circuit City.
