is there a website that gives specs of your machine?

is there website that will tell you the specs of your machine? i dont mean benchmarks, i would like an answer like "you are using a pentium 4 2.8 ghz with 1 gig of ram and a g31 chipset"

the machine is currently running puppy linux

Is there a website? Do you know ANYTHING about the web? If there is a website that could do it, it would be a page containing a web app with no particularly good reason for it to be a web app (still OS-dependent). Just download and run the appropriate utility and carry it around on a thumb drive if you need to use it on various systems.

For understandable reasons, a website cannot simply probe your computer. Without executable code running locally, which you must explicitly allow for security reasons (ignoring exploits), you are nothing more than what you, your browser, plugins, and your network/ISP report.

i used to work on a utility that did exactly this, the company sucked so im not going to link it. the developer was quite resistant to making it work properly and we ended up working with some Swedish guys to develop a stand alone version for users with out IE/active x.
