So apparently you can't tell MS Desktop Search to index network drives if you run win xp x64. And it just so happens that I run win xp x64. The tab for UNC folders simply isn't there.
My main reason of installing windows desktop search in the first place was so that I could index my network drives and easily search them, however, this appears to be more difficult than i originally thought.
I tried creating and ntfs junction for the network drives, but I'm pretty sure you can't do that (to a network drive).
So it seems like the only option I'm left with is somehow tricking windows into thinking that my network drives are in fact, local. Any ideas?
Also, while we're on the topic, is there any way to reset your saved passwords for network locations? I changed the passwords on all the computers on the network, and now the "save password" thingy for the login no longer appears and it does not automatically login when windows starts. I have to manually type in the new password every time.
