On my receiver I have 1 optical digital input and one coaxial digital input.

I'm maxed out with those and want to be able to add an additional digital audio source and figured coaxial digital would be more likely to split than optical.

Is there a switcher or splitter that'll allow for me to accomplish this while not cost as much as a new receiver?

I've been told you can get an optical splitter and use it in the reverse direction than you're supposed to, such that it has 2 inputs and one output. You just can't have both connected input sources generating a signal at the same time.

Just use a Y splitter and obviously don't have both devices outputting at the same time :)
