Is there a way to split an iTunes account?

I love the simplicity of my iPhone... but iTunes is absolutely maddening. o_O

Since I've had my iPhones we have run them on one iTunes account; I would like to create a new, separate account for my daughter's phone. Is there a way to move the songs she has purchased on the current account to her new account and, preferably, get them off my account? We don't use the iCloud thing, and her iTunes account would be on a new, separate computer.

I've delved into Search Hell trying to come up with a definitive answer, but I really haven't found an answer... and I don't want to screw iTunes up any more than I already have. D:

Just wait till iOS 8. Family Sharing.

When that drops, you'll be able to have separate Apple IDs for your family members. You then add them to your own Family Sharing group which then gives you the ability to authorize purchases as well as share purchases. The only caveat is that not all of the purchases are authorized for sharing, and I don't have any idea how they're going to handle previously purchased merchandise. If you look at the way bottom where they always have the exceptions, it states "*Not all purchases are eligible for Family Sharing."

I hope that helped even the slightest.

You wouldn't be able to associate the songs with a different account, but music purchased on iTunes in the last 5 years or so should all be DRM-free. If you just copy the files over to her computer and drag them into iTunes, that should work.

I have the actual files backed up on another HDD, I'll give that a try. I really want to get rid of her sh... uh, stuff, on my account completely. I'm tired of having to scroll through all of it... o_O

Couldn't you simply register her email address to the existing account, then disassociate your email addresses and create a new account for yourself?

You might find that her songs are DRM free anyways. Most of them are, perhaps all.. I've not followed it in a while. That probably wouldn't get them into the cloud without paying for iTunes Match and I'm not certain that would work.

Well... I have some songs I have purchased as well, the idea is to get her songs over to her account and OFF mine.... but your idea has merit. Let her scroll through my songs while I create a new account. Hmmm...

I've got iTunes installed on the new computer and her songs downloaded to it... I'll have to see if it works.
