i overclocked it from 250/333 to 310/420, but it doesnt really help.
Are there any softmods or anything?

Word. Time for an upgrade. 😉

Yep, a Ti4200 would run circles around any MX card. Better yet, a 9500 Pro or 9700 Pro.

Yeah. Electrocute it with 120V AC (*), and then after it's good and fried, replace it with something faster.

(*) No, don't really do that, you might well hurt yourself, and I don't particularly care to be liable for it.

PS. That's a fairly decent OC I think, if that's not fast enough for you, then you do need to simply just bite the bullet and upgrade.

You're not going to get much more out of that underpowered videocard. Bite the bullet and upgrade to a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB. It's currently the best value for the money and still quite fast.🙂

that just leaves me speechless 😛

but ne way- it will b all of no time at all b4 someone sez 'get a 6600gt instead-it has sm 3.0, is faster, makes u waffles etc etc' so i thought i'd drop it in now 🙂

I'm currently missing my powercolor 9800 pro (gone back 2 the supplier 4the second time overheating 🙁 ), and having 2 live without 3dgoodness or my second monitor :disgust: and having 2use a crappy mx440 while i wait is really rubbing salt into the wound 😛
