Is there a way to see how long a new car has been sitting on dealership's lot?

There is a brand new and fully loaded 2014 Camaro 2SS (the dealership actually has 3 2014 Covertible 2SS', 2 2014 2SS', 4 2014 1SS', 4 2LT's, 3 1LT's, not counting all the 2015's in stock).

Is there a way to determine how long a particular car has been in the dealership's inventory?

Being that this is a 2014, they have plenty of 2015's in stock, and the 2016 is supposed to debut in April, with a sticker price of $43,480, what should I offer on this vehicle?

I was able to look up the GM employee pricing and it is $38,166. Would it be stupid of me to even try to get it for less?

Offer them what you think is fair for the car and don't go over that. Worst they say is no and you keep looking.

Maybe things have changed, but there should be a date somewhere on the window sticker or door jam. If not, there may also be a date o the sticker with all the option codes. Another route is to decode the Vin #. For example, if they built X amount in the series, then you can judge where the Vin falls.

I'm with above, don't offer above 35K. Regardless of miles, the car is used at 2014, when you drive it off the lot you'll be at 2014 depreciation rather than 2015. KBB shows worth 40K at best.

GM was just offering 20% off MSRP on 2014s as part of a year end clearance sale. I would start with that.

I'd also google around for a VIN decoder. Most brands have one somewhere. It'll generally allow you to pull up manufacture date as well. Plus you can get the VIN online or over the phone.
