Is there a way to save emails from Yahoo?

I need to forward a lot emails (from Yahoo) to some people and I was wondering what the best way to do this would be.

Forwarding each email one by one would take a long time and I was thinking if there was a way to save the emails into a single file, I could just send the file containing the emails. Is this possible? Otherwise what would be the best way I could get this done? Thank you in advance, this is very important.

Cut and paste them all to one large email and send to a distribution list? (I use Yahoo email, but never tried this.)

You can access your Yahoo mail with other email programs which in turn have archiving capabilities, i.e., Thunderbird, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Eudora, etc.

I get mail from yahoo.com frequently and it is no different from any other mail.

As long as you can access your Yahoo mailbox and use their SMTP, there's no need to use the Yahoo compose/read screen.

IIRC Yahoo's free service does not support POP access - Except for a few grandfathered accounts.

I see - you get what you pay for in this world. :)

How about hotmail or gmail? Are they also bent on keeping you tied down?

OK - looks like Gmail is the school solution. :)

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to access the emails using Windows (Vista) Mail but I have some more questions.

After downloading the emails onto Windows Mail, I noticed the number of emails is fewer than the number that is listed on Yahoo. I compared both lists at various points and they seem to be there but there are way too many (thousands) to go through each email, one by one. I thought I may have done something wrong, so I tried it a few times and the same number of emails, about a dozen fewer than what's listed on Yahoo, are downloaded. Is there a reason for this?

I made a backup of the emails by going to C:\user\...\Microsoft\Windows Mail\ and copying the folders; is that good enough? If I want to bring up the emails on another computer I just copy the files from my backup into the Windows Mail folder? What about if I wanted to bring them up in Outlook?

Thanks again.

Check your junk mail folder, also junk mail settings if you want to retry.

Thanks. I changed my junk mail settings to "No Automatic Filtering. Mail from blocked senders is still moved to the Junk E-mail folder" and for the Phishing settings I unchecked the "Protect my Inbox from messages with potential Phishing links" box.

I tried downloading the emails again after changing the settings but still get the same number and there was nothing in the Junk e-mail folder.
