Is there a way to remove the ICQ banner at the bottom at the message window?

I just upgraded from 2000a to 2000b, latest version. This is so irritating. Everytime I send a message to somebody, I have to see those banners which makes my connection very slow. Even more, it automatically refreshes itself every 10 seconds or so.
