is there a way to recover data from usb pen

what software would you use?

It's a standard (typically) FAT32/NTFS volume, so use whatever you'd use to recover data in any of those formats - Norton Utilities, an unerase-type utility, etc. You can google for lots of suggestions.

unfortunately it wont read i booted with the pen in my system and deleted the partition thinking it was part of the hard drive.

So then you'd use a utility that can recover from deleted partitions. IIRC Norton's Disk Doctor has recovery functionality. You might google a bit for "unerase" and "deleted disk partition" - there's no difference between this disk and any other hard drive; it's all the same - still FAT32 or NTFS...
