I haven't bothered how to do that with PS yet..but Irfanview is fast -- open program, hit "B" (or file/batch conversion, IIRC..)..select options, input files, output directory..and that's it. =)

I concur with this recommendation - that program is great. The free part makes it even greater.

Because a 250kb JPG is a lot faster to download than a 3MB PNG?

Lossless compression is great, as long as you're not transferring it over a narrow pipe.
