is there a way to override service launched process priority in win2k/xp?

A quick search in google and Microsoft knowledge Base didn't gave anything good.
and one more thing, I have heard that some applications(VNC?) break if you change their priority so if that happend to anyone here their input would be apprishiated(never happend to my personely).
