Is there a way to open an electric garage door w/o the opener?

I share a garage with another unit in my apartment complex. They just installed electric garage door openers. The apartments aren't connected to the garage. Apparently I'm doomed to need to carry this stupid big opener with its metal car clip around every time I go out. If I leave it in the car and the neighbor closes it, I can't get my car out unless there's some trick to open the door.

I've never seen a garage door that had ONLY electronic means of opening. That's pretty stupid if it's the case.

Get a spare from the apartment manager and keep it in your apartment. If you ever have to use it, don't leave BOTH of them in your car. Other than that, I don't think you have too many options unless there's a manual twist handle on the outside of the door.

Go to lowes/home depot and get one of those keypad openers.

Takes about 5 mins to install, then you can open garage with a code
