Is there a way to make the square root symbol in word?

Try Insert -> Symbols or something like that. Not sure, but I was trying to find similar stuff in WP a week or two ago and saw this.

Insert, Symbol, Subset, "Mathematical Operators" 3rd line down, 4th from left.

I hope you don't use that on anything you're getting graded on.

It's a symbol you can insert, but if you're doing anything more than just that little bit you really should be using Equation Editor.

you guys wanna give me the ALT+ numbers shortcut?? I don't see it in my insert-> symbols list

EDIT: nm, more posts happened and i got it :)

Try the symbol font.
