Is there a way to make a boot disk in W2K? I want to reformat my hard drive. If it's impossible to make a boot disk, any other way to do format c: without a boot disk? Thanks.

There sure is. Start with 4 blank floppies. Insert the cd within Windows and type d:\bootdisk\makeboot.exe a:.

RampRat,

Any reason you don't just boot from the W2K install CD? The setup program lets you delete / create / format partitions.

Jim

Its not a boot disk per se... well maybe it is. All it does is allow you to start Win2k setup. However, if you want to boot into DOS, you'll be best off doing it on a Win9X or WinME machine

Just download/create a win98 boot disk from here bootdisk.com, handy to have anyway for booting to DOS with win2k.

Also, the win2k CD IS a bootdisk, its not a DOS bootdisk. The 4 disk thingy is used if your CDRom Drive is not bootable.
