Hey all.

So due to a family emergency I am driving 8 hours tomorrow to go to a funeral. I have an absurdly long final on monday that I need to make up and I wanted to set up my gf's IPod to listen to lectures on the car ride.

I am not in the least bit Ipod suave but I was wondering if there is a way to listen to tracks at double speed?

I also don't know if there is a way to take the MP3's and speed them up so they naturally play at double speed or something along those lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am kind of in a sucky situation and I could really use your help. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can do that from the iPod itself, but you should be able to remaster MP3's to double speed using a program, I recommend Audacity (it's free, google it)

I will check it out. I am really hoping it is fairly easy to use. Unfort time is the major thing against me right now.

I'm pretty sure you can convert them to the ipod's audiobook format, and then use the ipod's audiobook speed settings to change it.

I remember doing this with moby dick. I got it as mp3, converted it, and then it had all the fancy audiobook features (resume where left off, different speeds etc)

Bingo

Easy to use, free, opensource.
