Is there a way to kill a thread?

I have several IE windows open and one quit resopnding. If I close it in task mag or R click and choose close, experience tells me that all IE windows will close. Is there to kill only the thread occupied by that one window? Is there a way to see individual threads? A utility app or something?

Under Tools, Options, there should be a checkbox to run each window in a separate process... make sure that's checked.

Hey there DaveJ. I remember seeing that option in an earlier iteration of IE but I don't see it in 5.5. Anyway, I think what I want may be different. First, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a "process" is different from "thread". It's my understanding that a thread is a kinda like a "sub-routine" of a process; and a process can have several to many threads. Is that correct or am I just blowing smoke? Under the tuteledge of jaywallen I have set my registry to force each IE window to run in it's own thread. Supposedly, copying a window with the Ctrl-N combo accomplishes the same thing. However, at times I have an IE window lock up (maybe from some rouge java applets on some sites, I dunno). When I try to close it from task mgr or R-close, all my IE windows close. I want a way to access the threads, on a more basic level maybe, to close only the thread that's "not responding". Is that clear, or have I just confused the issue
