Is there a way to keep Thunderbird from immediately sending mail out when you hit send?

With Outlook 2003, I had it setup to send mail whenever it does a send/receive instead of sending mail immediately when you hit send (you know sometimes you may forget to add something or put something in you meant not to say, yet it goes away immediately).

Is there an option to have Thunderbird NOT immediately send a message?

I've never seen an option like that. You could save it as a draft or something, or just be more careful when sending email. :p

True, but I liked Outlook's "Outbox" concept. Wish there were something like that with TB

Why would you hit send if you don't mean to send the message? That's something those people who store things in the Deleted Items folder would do.
