Is there a way to go from win2k to winME without formatting?

I have a friend who wants to switch from win2k to winME, and I was wondering is there was an easy way I might not know about. Personally, I would never make that switch, but that's just me. I haven't seen the computer, but these are the only options I have come up with:

1) format and clean install- I would like to avoid this because I'm not sure how everything is set up or if there are programs installed that she can't get again.
2) dual OS setup- I found a thread that says how you can install 98/ME AFTER NT/win2k, so I think that would work, provided there's enough hard drive space.

Thanks for the help.

unless you dual boot after making a seperate partition for ME using partition magic or on a seperate hdd then no is your answer.
there could be potential problems in try to install ME after win2k for dual booting so read the FAQS on what you should do! :)
