I had to change my desktop background to white so I could take a screen shot of something....

WHen I changed it back the icon backgrounds were all white...now when I changed my background back to what I had before it is all fubar'd

I thought that you could make the icons transparent ? but when I go to properties there doesn't seem to be any setting...I have tried to custom the color but that still doesn't match up right

Any ideas ?

Thanks

well I must be a retard or something...

the icons backgrounds remain white....I went into system...advanced....settings

and the box next to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop" was already checked to begin with...

so I unchecked it hit apply and then rechecked it and still the icon backgrounds are white

I wish there was a restore to default button for this sort of stuff...any other ideas ?

Try this:

Right-click on desktop -> Arrange Icons By -> Uncheck 'Lock Web Items on Desktop'

Nope didn't work...I think it is fooked for what ever reason...this is a POS work computer so I am sure they have some restrictions on it as far as setting changes.

I will just have to live with it

Thanks for the help though guys I actually learned where to change that in the future !!!!
