Is there a way to force thumbnail preview for ALL kinds of mpeg files?

I recently started making home movies with a hard-drive camcorder which, although records excellently, uses fikle type .MOD (which someone told me is a type of MPEG). But while some mpegs on my pc show a thumbnail preview none of my camcorder files allows for a thumbnail preview, which makes it a pain to sort through my vid. files... I'm running XP Pro, btw.

Is there a software that forces thumbnail preview support for different kinds of mpeg files?

*Also - someone told me that XP Media Center edition shows thumbnail previews for every kind of mpeg (though I'm doubting that claim given that Media Center edition never really seemed to take off...)

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance:)

Download the codecs required for them. Try downloading Haali Media Splitter and ffdshow decoder.

Also, try saving the attached code into a reg file with notepad and merging it into your registry. No guarantees. If it doesn't work when it's named as .avi or .mpg, I doubt it will as .mod.

Thanks for the suggestion - tried it but no luck.

Anyone know if there is a way, or software, to force thumbnail preview for .MOD files in Explorer?

Or if XP Media Center Edition will display thumbnail preview for .MOD files?
