Is there a way to force HBO Go to stream at 720p or lower?

HBO Go playback on my laptop is very choppy and skips. I don't have this issue with other streaming networks. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

My laptop is older and can only handle 720p video. It's hooked up to a 720p TV so it's not an issue. HBO Go seems to be trying to stream 1080p through it probably due to my internet connection which is 30-40 mbps. HBO Go runs fine on my desktop (1080p res) and my phone (LG G2).

I couldn't find any quality settings on the HBO Go website or in the player.

Is there a way to change the video quality of the stream?
