I have a motherboard with no options in the bios(Compaq). I want to flash it with a simular boards bios but of course It checks the old and the new for compatibility. Is there any way to keep the flash program from checking this like a string added to the flash command? The motherboard is not that important to me and would breath new life into it with some bios options. If anyone knows if this is possible I'd like to know, If anyone knows for sure that I will have a non-functioning MB afterwards let me know also.
Thanks,
Scott

This is just some off the wall guesses... I think the bios being proprietary may not be flashable unless you use a compaq flash..:( I have seen some scarey suggestions in the past like running a normal flash from compaq, and halfway thru the flash do a reset to corrupt the compaq bios, and then reflash with the bios flash of your choice, but that would be highly at your own risk..and likely assumes a boot block in bios.. hopefully someone has MUCH better news for you.. :)
