perhaps even using space from a secondary drive

reason is my main drive has only about 600mb and really i dont want to get a new hardrive and reinstall windows and everything seems to work

but i would like to install the unreal 3 demo but for some reason even though i asked to install it on another drive it still says not enough space on the main drive

cheers

Hey steve, welcome to AT.
What is the size of drive you currently have windows install on?

You could try to retrieve more room on your existing HD, but sooner or later your going to have to buy a new drive.
If you have lets say 80Gb drive, you can get back about 4Gb back by resizing the recycle bin from 10% to 1%.
You can also gain some space by changing the size that System Restore uses as well, think that uses 12%, you can change that size to about 5%.
Doing above should get you plenty of room for UT3.
Don't forget to clean temp files as well as Internet files as well, disk cleanup utilities such as CCleaner are nice for soom good cleaning.

But don't overlook the fact that you will need a new hard drive, if you buy a seagate hd, they have a program that will copy existing drive to new drive, so you wouldn't have to re-install windows.

As suggested, you should consider upgrading to a bigger hard drive.
You can use included drive software to migrate your main drive to the new larger hard drive without loosing any data or settings.

If you buy OEM then you can use something like Acronis True Image to make an exact copy to the new drive. Acronis is available as a free trial so you don't even need to buy it for a one time use.
Then you use the new larger drive instead of the older one, but will more free space. I always keep the old drive in a safe place just in case something happens to the new one.
