Is there a way to "fix" bad NI-MH batteries?

I had one of those fast chargers (The 15 Minute deal ones) I stopped using when it broke and almost caught fire So I have a bunch of good brand (Panasonic, Rayovac, Kodak, Etc) that my New Charger says are bad (Flashing battery symbol) is there a way to make them charge again? or should I just buy new ones?
I bought some new batteries from China and they charge but loose the charge really fast with minimal use (Even though they say 3000Mah which I do not believe)

If I do buy new AA NI-MH batteries what are some good ones? I hear some good things about the Sanyo Eneloops but they are expensive and I want alot of batteries as I use alot of them plus I can charge Eight (8) at a time:whiste:

Thanks

You could try discharging them (e.g. sticking them in a flashlight and leaving it on, NOT shorting them!) more fully, and then trying to recharge them.

I just tried that and the batteries are totally dead🙁 ( I used my Multimeter and I get less then 1 Volt per battery. Does that mean the batteries are a total loss?

PS. I waited a while to get a new charger because I had a financial issue

You get what you pay for with nimh. Eneloops are the best, period! Amazon looks to have the best deals for eneloops. Or costco if you have a members ship. Also, GP Recyko is good. I have both eneloops and GP Recyko and recommend both. I also have Sony Cycle Energy 2000mAh but cant recommend them cause they cost the same as eneloops.

Eneloops --- Amazon has free shipping for them
GP Recyko --- Adorama has free shipping for them

Spend the cash on a quality product and you wont need to spend more later to replace it
