Is there a way to find out what BRAND my video card is?

I know I have a Radeon 5770 but I have no idea what company actually made the card. It was a hand-me-down and the guy who had it before me peeled all the stickers off. I cannot for the life of me find anything in Windows or in the AMD driver settings that indicate the actual manufacturer.

"ATI AIB (1787)", whatever that means.

Basically a generic ID for those cards using a stock AMD BIOS, as I understand it. Hovering over the field would show that it could be PowerColor, HIS, and I'm finding XFX mentioned in some searches.

Serial number stickers on the PCB gone, too? Really stupid if that's the case. Could probably be identified visually unless it has the generic black shroud w/60mm fan covering the whole front of the card. Beyond that you might find some characters etched on the PCB, but that might even require removing the cooler.

Not much to be had outside of academic curiosity at this point. You likely won't find any specialized software or drivers for it and the entire 5xxx lineup was retired to legacy status a few months ago.

Well that's pretty much it, I'm just curious. I could probably figure it out if I really studied the design of the card but that would require me to actually take it out of the case. My HTPC case is...well it looks nice, but it was cheap and because of that it is is a huuuuuuuuge pain to work in. I can barely even see the video card with the side off. Not worth that effort.

Thanks for everyone's help!

if it has a green sticker with the model name its an AMD reference design. also CCC or radeon settings distinguishes between AIB and in house reference produced versions via built by amd or powered by amd.

since you didn't post any photos of the card it's probably a good idea for you to google some 5770s and see which one looks more like yours.

All XFX PCB's have a silkscreened serial #/barcode near the gold fingers. if not, as stated above, it will be AMD reference with a green sticker instead of silkscreened serial #
