Is there a way to find old iTunes purchases?

Who knows how many songs I have purchased over the years on iTunes. But, they are on computers long since gone, so I don't have them anymore. It seems liek there should be a way to redownload them to my current PC.

I don't have iTunes in front of me, but there is a "Purchases" section. You can also access it on iOS devices through the iTunes app.

I haven't bought anything from iTunes in a while but they would email you a receipt, but those are probably deleted now right?

IIRC you'd still have to repurchase the songs.

It is possible that I was on a different email adress years ago.

Your downloads are tied to an account which is always tied to an email, so you can only download songs/movies that you bought using that email. Go to the iTunes Store in iTunes, on the right there's a "quick links" bar with an option that says purchased under it iirc. When you click on that select the "not on this computer" tab and it'll show any songs bought on that account that currently aren't on your PC and let you download them again.

If you had another account with a different email and don't remember it, you're screwed.

Heh, I was actually going to say basically that, but apparently that policy has changed since I last used iTunes.

Last time I bought a song from them (or even had iTunes installed) was years ago. Back then, you were responsible for making your own backups, and if you lost them you were screwed. Your one recourse was to go crawling to Apple and beg them to let you redownload everything, which they'd only do maybe once per year. I always thought it should work like Steam where you get unlimited downloads as long as you have access to your account.

When did they change this?

Not necessarily. It might be able to be tracked by first/last name, phone number, email addresses, or credit card numbers. Old accounts are still in the system.

Got it!
Thank you all for the help!!!

To download previous iTunes Store purchases to an authorized computer:
In iTunes, click Purchased (below Store).

Click Download Previous Purchases at the bottom of the list of purchases.

In the page that appears, select a category.

iTunes shows you which of your purchases are available for download. You can view all of your past purchases, or just the ones not currently in your iTunes library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download.

If you select Music, you can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you’re using Album view, click an album to see which songs on it are available for downloading.

To search for an item, type its name or a keyword in the search field, and then press the Return key to view your search results.

To download an item, click the Download button to the right of the item.

To download all available items, click Download All.
