I'm not seeing it. I want to see people I'm not friends with in rank of how many friends I have in common. Why can't I do this? Why??

Heh, my daughter was telling me about her account, and all I could think of is "Why would you want to do that?"![]()

So when someone says "Why do you never call?", you can say "Hey I have a facebook account"?
I could see the plus side of that.

It automatically suggests friends for me based on common friends.
I just signed up this week. I thought it was useless before. But now, I see some good value to using it. I've been browsing my friend's and relative's facebook page and have found dozens of fantastic photos of them, me, or both. True, if they were really good friends/relatives they would have already emailed me these photos. But people are lazy. I've found some priceless ones that I wouldn't have gotten any other way.Originally posted by: Hayabusa Rider

A secondary benefit is that I can now contact an old but good friend who's phone number and email address changed over the years and I had no other way of contacting.

"People you may know" does the same thing. It just doesn't say how many friends you have in common, or rank them.

How do I access this feature? I don't see it anywhere.

Facebook bashing is so 2007. It can be an excellent tool, but it can also be heavily abused. Just because some people have serious social issues that stem from the website doesn't mean that the site itself is at fault.
