Is there a way to downgrade my Paypal account?

Yep, you can. E-mail PayPal CS - be aware that you won't be able to do it more than once.

Yes but you can only downgrade once.

If you expect to receive cc payments in the future, I would consider opening a 2nd Paypal account.

My wife has two Paypal accounts and it works beautifully.

Wow, never knew Paypal accepted CC's. Is that for paying, or receiving?

Would a site with Paypal work just the same as one that had a shopping cart package? Or do they have to go through paypal first? And how much does the premium package cost?

Hmm, because for Homestead, people have to pay up $30 for a storefront to take CC's to order their products..but Paypal is free. You also get shipping info with the storefront, but it's definitely not worth the extra $30 if you can take CC's with Paypal.

Yes it sucks, they charge a fee even if it's just from another paypal user with funds in it.
over 10 transaction I have, they have eatten about 9.50 fee as is!
WTF do I need premier account when 99 percent of the times people use funds that is already there?

Most of my eBay crap is paid for with CC...I don't bother with diverting them to a personal account if they are paying with eCheck because most buyers don't bother reading my ten-line e-mail and end up sending it to the wrong account and it takes another day to sort out.

Personal account is for stuff like AT FS/T or high-priced eBay stuff.

So is it possible to have two accounts pointing at the same checking account?
My account is also permier right now but if I would get a second account it would have to be a verified one, which requires you to add a bank account. Adding a CC alone does not make the paypal account verified.

No, you need another account. I have a business acount and personal account :D

Or, open a free checking accoutn at a local bank... most places should have one.. provident bank in MD has free checking w/ no minimums (altho you have to open w/ $100 i think). And just use it for paypal.

I have 2 paypal accounts for this very purpose. I tell people no credit card payments at all for my auctions. The other one is an upgraded account to pay for auctions/trades.

I got downgraded but it say that if someone is to send me a payment with cc, and if I accept= instant upgrade to premium account! this sucks.. why can't paypal make you pay a fee only if its CC transaction?
also im limited to 1,000 a month, lmao I only made 200 in sales for 1 month so far.
They also say that on my previous transaction that are non CC, no refunds. plus once I am upgraded to premier account again, their is no turning back. YIKES!!!

oh well, this is how ebay makes more money; it was not like this in the beginning when cc was accepted except it had a limit of 500

They have to make money somehow, what do you want them to do, run it for free? I'd much rather pay the 2.5% or whatever than have to pay $30/m for a merchant account + whatever percentage. Plus bidders can't give me the "the check is in the mail" excuse.

Exactly.

Two Paypal accounts is the answer.

Personal - for non cc transactions.

Premier - for cc and eBay transactions.

I chose to upgrade after a 2nd guy couldn't read "non-CC Paypal only"... 2.2% isn't terrible.
