its a cable modem with 4 ports and an antennae

netgear..

And my internet connection is working fine but when I go to try and run counterstrike for the first time the connection drops and cant find servers

So it is a Wireless Modem/Router Combo, or a stand alone Wireless Cable/DSL Router?

What ever it is look at the device?s manual and find out how to log to the Router's menu and disable the Wireless.

If you do use the Wireless do not disable it, instead configure the Wireless security, and nobody would be able to "Steal" from you.

Link to: Wireless Security.

In order to play on line games you need to open the ports that the games are using through the Router's Firewall, and or software Firewall (if you use one).

See general explanation here, Cable/DSL Routers - NAT, Ports, SPI.
