I don't do "mirroring" (real time imaging) for my laptop, but I do creat duplicate HDDs for same - two of them in fact. My laptop allows me to remove the floppy module and slip in a second HDD. Then I boot to a CD that has DriveCOpy 4 on it - and I simply clone the main drive. I have two backup drives so created - one is identical with the primary, and I rotate them every few weeks. I realize not many laptops have modules for a second HDD - but my Gateway 9300cx does. Before that, I used an external drive connected via PCMCIA or USB or Firewire and cloned a backup drive that way. Of course it is slower, but works nonetheless.
