Is there a way to convert 12v DC to 14.4v DC?

I'm into car audio and It would help alot if I could keep my voltage up around 14.4v. I know you can't get energy for free, but if I could convert 12v to 14.4v without too much loss it would help out alot.

Anyone know of anyway to do this or to research on how to do this?

Thanks!

14.4 would require a DC-DC power supply. current would be sacrificed for voltage. Though when it comes to car amps, I don't think theysell one with enough current on the output. what kind of amp do you have?

Most cars run above 12volts with the alt on.

Most charging systems keep the voltage around 14.0-14.4 V with the engine running. Transient loads from the stereo will make this dip but you can get some big a$$ caps to hold it up and absorb some of the sag. Trying to us a switcher to raise the voltage up would likely not have the transient response you want (at least with a switcher you could afford). Use big wire and caps and hope you have a good alternator.
