Sometimes my games run at drastically different volumes, is there a way to assign keys to turn windows volume up or down while in another program? (given that these are unused keys, of course) Thanks for your help in advance.
This'd be handy for me too - my speakers (Logitech Z-640's) have a headphone jack, but moronically, the volume knob doesn't affect the headphone volume...research in progress.
You can probably use girder to do this. That program can be used to do A LOT of things but be warned, because of that it can be a bit daunting to configure.
yeah, I have a multimedia keyboard, but the other input devices I have for gaming do not support passthrough of non-standard keyboards. I did think up using one of those USB knobs, but they are expensive..
They sell USB knobs, a little stainless knob that is assignable to anything. They are popular for volume control and for video editing and playback. They were designed for MACs originally, but are USB and therefor universal. Made by PowerMate, click this: PowerMate
