Is there a way to connect your pc to your laptop

Usually not, especially at a hardware level (ie no OS/software involvement on the laptop).

Obviously with disassembly & a great deal of skill you can do anything you want.

Depends. I've used an Inspiron 8200 with a Geforce 4 Go, and it has a video connector to connect a second monitor. I doubt most laptops have a video card that supports dual monitors though.
 
You can login through Remote Desktop in Windows through a network and see the desktop and use programs, I don't know if that will help you. Movies don't work that well, maybe if you had a Gigabit network.

That's what I use with my old desktop since I have no external monitor at all. It's worked so far...

he means plug an outside PC into the laptop's monitor.

and no, you pretty much can't do it. you could use a remote access program like VNC, though.
