I've had this laser for about 9 months but I'm still on the same toner cartridge, I've put a couple of thousand pages through it but the toner still has like 30% left. With my old inkjet (and I'm sure all inkjets) I can clean the print heads to fix text issues, is there a way I can do it with a laser? Surprisingly, I haven't been able to find a utility on Google and the HP driver doesn't have any options for it (that I can tell at least).

Here's what you do. You'll need a beer and the toner cartridge. Strip down to your underwear and sit down in your living room indian style. Grab the beer, open it and pour it on top of your head. Then hold the cartridge above you head while saying "ABABABABABABABABABABABABAB" for 30 minutes. After that the cartridge should be good as new.

LOL.

But seriously, you do need to shake the toner periodically to even out the ink. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the toner, and/or the drum.

I normally get a vacuum and suck up whatever loose dust I can easily get to and the lightly vacuum the cartridge itself, then I get some compressed air and blow whatever dust I can out of the little crevices. But remember to do this outside and also remember that it's not good to inhale toner dust.

That sounds like a good idea actually. Very common sense yet I didn't think of it :)
