Is there a way to boost/amplify my cell phone reception in my apartment?

I have a LG TM510 cell phone (I have Verizon), and get pretty lousy reception/dropped calls in my apartment (first floor of a duplex). If I go about 100 ft to the street, I get great reception. I've seen cell phone signal boosters for cars (external mounts mostly), but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that I could use inside to help.

The only thing you can really do is to go by a window. Don't try any of those "cell/antenna boosters". The $2 that I spent on mine as a test - doesn't seem to help much if at all. Then again, if you want to try and have $2 handy, check ebay for them.

An external antenna is about the only option. You could just get a car antenna and mount it somewhere inside.
