Is there a way to always get search results filtered by date

even ehen using the boxes at the top or side of the page, not juyst selecting in advanced search?

I mean, really, why isn't this standard?

For me, selecting the "order search results by date" option in advanced search makes all my searches come up sorted by date until I clear cookies or try to search while logged out.

why on earth isn;t that the default? Or am i from some strange universe where ordering a search on a forum by date is by far & away the most logical way way of doing it? 😛
