Is there a way to add a custom DSR option with Nvidia?

I have perhaps an odd use case. I use a 21:9 monitor on my desktop, and have a steam link in my living room on my normal 16:9 screen. The DSR scale factors in the Nvidia options add all sorts of DSR resolutions, but only in 21:9 because that is the native ratio of my monitor. Is there a way to add custom entries to this so I can add 4k? The steam link does 1080p only, but there is an obvious image quality improvement in allowing it to run 2560x1440 and downscaling it. I'd like to run 3840x2160, but since my screen is 3440x1440, that's not an option, and DSR options don't work because of the previously mentioned locked aspect ratio.

Anyone have a way to do this?

By default, NVIDIA will only scale the native resolution with DSR. Use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to change your native resolution to 1080p, then DSR to 4K, then stream over Steam Link.

Of course you'll have to frequently restart your video drivers whenever you change between modes. Might be a PITA.

I found this but the referenced calculator link is dead.

Yes, I don't want to have to toggle things when playing on PC vs TV. The instructions on the above link indicate that they will work, but the calculator part is missing which makes it difficult to know for sure.

edit: was able to find the value to use for that registry key to have 4k res as one of the available resolutions (which doesn't show up as DSR oddly in the nvidia control panel anymore) but it works. I couldn't find the calculator, but since I only wanted the one entry, someone else's worked fine.

I'm able to select 1920x1080, without creating a custom resolution, on my 3440x1440 ultrawide. Steam has an option in the settings to

"Change desktop resolution to match streaming client"

It should should switch the client/host to 1080p (if the resolution is available). If its not, use CRU or Nvidia Custom Resolution to create 1080p/2160p.

Which is fine, but not what I wanted to do. I wanted to select 3840x2160 DSR which would then downsample to 1080p. Of course I could choose 1080p.
