Is there a way in AOL IM.. to prevent others from seeing you being online

Even if you add them to your buddy list?

For the first time katrin's bf and I have been chatting..and I added him in..but I dont see him in my buddy list.. she did mention years ago that only they see each other in their buddy lists.

Right click on name, Block Buddy.

He probably has it set so that only people on his buddy list can see that he's online. Since you may not be on it, you can't see that he's online even when he is.
