Is there a way I can see what process is causing my hard disk to thrash?

My corporate box is pretty hosed, but I might be able to save from having to reformat if I can see what is causing my disk to thrash. Task manager shows no activity, and it shouldn't be the pagefile since I don't have a lot of tasks running. Anyone have any clues on a program like this?

A good spyware/virus sweep is probably in order.

If you want to try to narrow it down, turn on the I/O counters in Task Manager. One of the menu options allows you to customize the display; you want I/O Bytes Read, I/O Bytes Written, and I/O Bytes Other enabled. Look for the process/processes whose counts are going up.

Been done.

Spybot and Microsoft AntiSpyware have found 0 adware/malware programs.

The reason I have problems isn't due to disk thrashing, its due to a program I use for driver development called SoftIce, but i'd rather not put another nail in the coffin...

Good idea on the I/O monitoring, thanks. That didn't occur to me.
