is there a way i can back up a full 9 gb dvd

is there a way i can back up a full 9 gb dvd to two 4.5 gb dvds?

and keep all the 7.1/5.1 sound sound and video?

Yep. DVDShrink, re-author mode, no compression.

Just split the disc in a good spot and ouput the first disc.

Then go back and start at the split (or a few frames before the split) and go to the end of the file. Output that to your second disc.
