Is there a way for me to send a message from my comp to my friend's comp through CMD?

Like if you have a home network, you can go into RUN, then type CMD, then do that Net Send blah blah to send a message to another computer on the same network. Well I'm wondering if I can send a message like that through Command to my friend's computer? So like pretend, he's not on AIM for me to talk to, I can do that to type him to get on AIM.

you can do netsend <insert ip addy here> and then type the message if I recall correctly. The other person will have to have windows 2000 or winxp in order for it to work though.

its net send (two words)

btw, if it's only you two on the network, or you want to send a message to all the people on teh network do:
net send * {msg}
