Is there a time limit to how long a store can take to deliver an item?

I got in on the $849 54" Samsung HDTV deal at Circuit City last month, and they said they'd call me when the set came in. Now I'm in no hurry to get it because I won't be moving in to my new place until the end of this month, but are they required to deliver it in any sort of time frame, i.e. 30 days? They don't have an ETA for me yet.

Also, does anyone know if the 30 day money back guarantee starts from date of delivery or date of purchase?

Whatever they say it will be delivered in, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

Sorry man.

And the warranty is date of delivery.

Bump. Just called -- it's been exactly one month since they took my money and they have NO CLUE when it's coming in. Are they allowed to do that?

There are FTC regulations against this type of delayed shipping. They used to enforce the law pretty strictly during xmas time but I guess the govt has other priorities.

Cancel an order for a $1400 HDTV that I got for $849?

No.

Then be quiet. Stop complaining that they're taking their time when you get a TV for almost half of the retail price. Blah blah... beggars can't be choosers.

Cancel a $1400 HDTV that you purchased for $849 that it does not look like you'll be getting in the foreseeable future?

Yes.

Or, since you got another three weeks or so till you have room for it, you could just wait till then. Of course it all depends on how long you're willing to wait.

STFU, biatch. You're just jealous.

I have every right to complain. They've been holding onto my money for a month with nothing to show for it and NO ETA. There has to be a law against that.

Now, if I got the TV and complained that it wasn't as good as another $1400 model, THEN you can start up on me.

Oh, you called me a bad name. Waahh.

Eeesh, what's with the chip on your shoulder? And I'm not jealous, I'm broke. Slight difference.

They gave you no ETA, and I don't think their sales agreements specify a delivery window. You didn't ask if it was in stock nor did you ask when it might be delivered. Sucks to be you.

Really, your options are to cancel it, call and complain until they deliver and/or set a firm date, or be a man (*snicker*) and suck it up until the thing arrives. Which will probably be some time next year.

Wuffsunie = Ender?

First, I didn't call you a bad name, second, if you need the assistance of emoticons to detect sarcasm, you should probably quit the internet because it's full of it, and third, it seems like you want some attention so I WILL call you a bad name now BIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTCHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Also, I wasn't so much complaining that I didn't have a TV as much as I was just wondering if it's legal for a retailer to sit on a customer's money like that. I was under the impression that once they take an order for a product advertised as being available that they had some sort of required time frame to make with the goods.

It would be REALLY funny if they ran short and had to substitute, because the Samsung was actually a substitute for a piece o' crap Magnavox advertised for the same price but discontinued/OOS. :p
