I just built my first system and decided to install XP, instead of Vista, at least for now. This was my first build, and I did not want to deal with an unfamiliar OS for my first build. The copy of XP I got, however, came with an upgrade coupon for Vista that I can send to MS.
I will probably end up upgrading at some point in the future, so I figured I could use the coupon. The coupon has a deadline (march 31, I think) so If I want to use it I need to use it now. The question is this: if I get the Vista upgrade through the coupon and I get the discs from MS, is there a time limit to INSTALL the OS? In other words, can I use the coupon today, get the discs, and then install them 6 months (or a year) from now?
